Some people say that a Trojan horse is an example of a virus. However, that is not completely true. It does have some similarities with a virus.

Named after the giant Greek wooden horse, a Trojan horse enters your computer system as a disguised friendly program. When it is activated, it can delete files from your computer. In addition, it can create an easy access for computer hackers to get onto your e-mails and files. Trojan horses can surprise your computer with harmful and nasty damages. Unlike viruses, it cannot replicate itself.

Virus

Filed under: General — Mara at 6:14 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2008

Viruses are harmful software programs that spread from one computer to another. They interfere with system of the targeted computer.

Wondering how it works? It can use e-mails to spread itself. A virus disguises itself as attachments on friendly e-mails. Once you open the e-mail message, the virus is triggered. The virus sends harmful and infectious codes to the computer to harm itself. When the virus spreads in the computer, it can corrupt and/or delete files and data from the infected computer. Basically, it can erase everything.

Reflecting Googling

In our class activity, I learned that NETS can help you search better in Google. Before we did this activity, I didn’t know that it mattered how many hits you get when you search for a subject. Normally, we would just type about our subject in general. Thus, there would be a lot of hits that doesn’t relate to what you would like to know but has the word/s you have typed. NETS ellaborated how we can narrow our search and be a skillful catcher of web pages.  To lessen the number of hits, we used the Advanced Search area to search for subjects. With this, the web pages that turned out would relate to whatever we typed in. For example, we typed in “Atlantis” at first. There were 42 million hits for this and most of these web pages were not specifically related to what we wanted. With the help of AS, we typed in “Atlantis continent” and  “without shuttle film movie”. The number of hits decreased to almost 80,000 hits.

Named after the island of Cyprus

With this, coins and wires are produced

This is classified as a transition metal

Did you know this is also lethal?

Copper is distinguished with the color red-orange. This element has been known since the ancient times so there is no specific discoverer. Did you know that the word ‘cops’ was name for policemen because their uniform used to have copper-made buttons? Copper is used to make wires and coins. As a matter of fact, some bullets are also made from copper.

When I hear the word family, I think about my life. The Ramos family is composed of two proud parents and five lovely children. In 1987, the family started to grow cherished memories. Although my family isn’t perfect, we always have fun and stick through thick and thin. We learn from each other.

Although my parents devote most of their time to work, they try and do their best to help us with our needs. Even wants, sometimes.
